JOY
March 3, 2010
No this is not a Christmas article. It is just a reminder that we are to experience, and pass on joy.
Joy is one of the most essential fruits of the Holy Spirit. Without joy you have nothing of use.
Take for instance Joy detergent, Almond Joy, or a Joystick. What happens when you run out of Joy? Click to read on…
For The Love Of God
January 28, 2010
Here is a story I read about a nine-year-old boy who lived in a rural town in Tennessee. His house was in a poor area of the community. A church had a bus ministry that came knocking on his door one Saturday afternoon. The kid came to answer the door and greeted the bus pastor. The bus pastor asked if his parents were home and the small boy told him that his parents take off every weekend and leave him at home to take care of his little brother. The bus pastor couldn’t believe what the kid said and asked him to repeat it. The youngster gave the same answer and the bus pastor asked to come in and talk with him.
Christmas: A Season of Stress?
December 5, 2009
The picture the Bible gives us of the first Christmas is one of peace and serenity. You can see it with your mind’s eye: There are the shepherds, gathered around a campfire under a clear, starlit sky, quietly talking among themselves about their flocks, their families, their fortunes . . . Down in the town of Bethlehem, away from the hustle and bustle of the multitude which has come for the census, a stable has become home to a newborn child, sleeping peacefully in the hay of the animals’ feed-trough, under the watchful eyes of his adoring parents. And even though the night sky would eventually be shattered by the singing of angels, even their message was one of “Peace on earth! Goodwill toward men!” Why is it then, that our modern culture has taken this sacred season–which has always been meant to be a season of peace and joy and serenity–and turned it into a “season of stress?” Is there any other time of year that is so stressful as Christmas? I mean, you just have to get your shopping done, and your parties planned, and your Christmas cards mailed, and your decorations up . . . . You just have to run here and go there, and do this and accomplish that. Click to read on…

The Church

Too many people come to Church three times primarily. They’re Baptized, they get married, and they have their funeral service at the Church. The first time they throw water on you, the second time rice the third time dirt!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
August 5, 2009
We sure have been hearing a lot about money, finances, taxes, spending, and any number of things that are related to money and the material world. We live in a materialistic society today. My grandparents and parents lived in a different world. I was raised to never buy anything unless you pay cash. Then a young married man in the 60’s I was told I had to establish some credit. I remember the first thing I bought on credit was a set of tools from Sears and Roebuck. By the way, I still have those tools almost 40 years later.
Morality is Important
June 28, 2009
I know my articles are usually filled with humor, but this month I hurt for my country. These words will not surprise anyone who knows me, so here they are.
As we move into the celebration of The Birth of The United States of America, I feel our nation in the last 40 years has taken a turn from morality to a Godless State controlled not by Godly citizens, but high sounding godless people. There are no rules, anything goes and everyone goes after the desires of their own heart. Man is no longer a sinner, he is just someone who is the product of a bad environment. Morality has been proclaimed to be dead. Anything goes. Today in 2009 we can say that The United States of America has moved morality to its “unimportant” list. We can even go so far to say we are no longer a moral nation.
Father’s Day
June 4, 2009
I am grateful for Godly Men. A man today needs a responsive heart to hear God and a life that is available to obey God. A man must have the integrity to honor God. When we set our heart on God we are saying that following God is number one priority in our lives. Nothing else can take first place. Godly fathers will make God and His Word the first priority in their lives.
Happy Mother’s Day
May 4, 2009
I am so grateful for Godly mothers. If I may be personal for a moment. I am thankful everyday for my mother who is a Godly woman. I am glad I have a mother who prays for me and loves me. I am appreciative of her patience, endurance, and sweetness.
Just enjoy the following snippets as we remember Moms this month.
