Operation Christmas Child
A Christian Church is Planted
Temple Baptist Church is passionate about missions because Jesus is passionate about missions. Just before Jesus ascended, Mark 16:15 says “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Each of us individually and our church as a whole is commanded to proclaim the gospel. Temple Baptist supports the proclamation of the gospel locally, regionally, state-wide, nationally, and internationally.
International: Our support of missions internationally includes financial support through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention as part of our monthly budget, the special offering called Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for direct support of the International Mission Board, and other international efforts such as E-Tech Missions. Every year we participate in Operation Christmas Child of Samaritan’s Purse that spreads the gospel the children around the world. We also pray for many missionaries as they work in foreign countries to spread the gospel, hold mission conferences, and provide other mission education for our church to become involved in missions. The Sprankle family are new IMB missionaries to Madagascar. TBC is prayer partners in God’s ministry they hope to establish there. You can find out more about the ministry on their blog.
National: We financially support missions in North America monthly through the Cooperative Program. We also have a special annual offering called the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.
Colorado Missions: We support Colorado Baptists as part of our monthly budget and through the Colorado Missions Offering in September in honor of Nicy Murphy. We also support Colorado Disaster Relief through Colorado Baptists.
Regional Missions: Temple Baptist is part of the Western Colorado Partnership Coalition. We support this group with part of our monthly budget.
Local Missions: Temple Baptist ministers at Columbine Manor regularly. Temple Baptist also has a Missions Committee that works to evaluate local organizations and needs. Each month, a portion of our income is allocated to support chosen organizations. These have included Young Life, The Grainery, Farm to Table, Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity, Salida Pregnancy Center, and others. We also encourage members of our church to get involved in service in our community through these groups and others.
