Temple Baptist Music

The music ministry is a vital part of the Temple Baptist Church Life, bringing worshipers to honor our Lord through different mediums of music. Blended worship assisted by instruments is the weekly worship form focusing our praise on God.

Technology of computers and sound equipment is a way we present God’s message on special occasions, such as, Christmas, Easter and July 4th. The music ministry participates in worship with the residents of Columbine Manor, the local nursing home.

“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”  Psalm 34:1

“My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul.” Psalm 108:1

WOW! It has been quite some time since sharing with you thru the Temple Trumpet. Hope you have had a wonderful summer whether traveling, enjoying family and friends or basking in God’s creation of beautiful Colorado.

A highlight for Larry and me was celebrating our 45th anniversary on a cruise to Alaska. To add to the adventure we traveled with friends, Linda and Richard Black. No dull moments with all our talking and laughing and praising God on the waters and gazing at the wonders He has made. Glaciers are amazing. Worshiping together on the ship is a highlight - meeting other Christians from around the world. Richard can always volunteer a piano player for the services only it happened to be a keyboard. I do love to play, but still prefer pianos.

Thanks to all who helped while we were enjoying a spectacular journey. Sorry we missed the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Franklins and the Camps. Congratulations to two special couples. Heard the events were fantastic.

Returning for our patriotic program with one rehearsal was unreal in our human eyes. God blessed us with his touch so that we could proclaim “In God We Trust”. I appreciate so much each and every one who contributed to the team effort. Many were out of their comfort zones but God honored all our efforts. Thank you “patriotic team” - you were fabulous! Added to our team, former member and now pastor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bob Myers shared and challenged us to be mindful of the strength that only God can give.

Heading to VBS with the theme of “High Seas Expedition”, many children and helpers has a “Vast Voyage”. Music was so creative with its message of the mighty love of God. Many were present every day and learned all the Bible verses.

Now that August is almost here, our thoughts go to the beginning of a new school year and what God has in store for the last half of 2010. Exciting indeed! Then we look forward to Team Impact in September. Before you know it Christmas will be here. So at this writing we will wait to see what God has in store for us. Until later we will continue proclaiming:

“His Name is Wonderful”

“Jesus My Lord”

Praising Him,
Tommie
