Son Shine Inn

SSI was started as a ministry of Temple Baptist Church. It is now an independent non-denominational Christian preschool. The objectives of SSI are to promote each child’s social, physical, emotional and academic development in a pleasant Christian setting, and to enhance and expand the parent’s relationship with the child and the school.

Son Shine Inn is licensed by the state of Colorado and meets standards set by the health and fire departments. Teachers and staff meet requirements set forth by the State Department of Social Services.

Our greatest opportunity is to introduce the love of Christ to so many children of Salida and the surrounding area.  As a Christian preschool, our curriculum includes daily Bible stories, songs and prayers.  We give the individual attention each child needs in a nurturing environment.

Salida Christian School

Salida Christian School currently meets in the facilities of Temple Baptist Church. As a non-denominational Christian school, we want our students to leave SCS with knowledge in their heads, but most of all Jesus in their hearts.  We want each child to learn about the plans God has for their life.

Beginning in 1990, SCS has added grades up to 8th, as the need for quality Christian education became apparent.

Our students are able to achieve both spiritually and academically due to the outstanding Abeka curriculum and the committed and qualified staff.  Scores from the Stanford 10 battery of tests revealed that our students score well above the national average.

Salida Christian School Update:
While our elementary school is closed for the summer, Son Shine Inn remains open. Please keep all of our programs in your prayers. Thank you so very much for the use of the facilities owned by Temple Baptist Church. None of these programs would be available in our community without your support. As we make plans for the next fiscal year (starting July 1st) please pray that all decisions made would be for the glory of God alone. We will continue to enroll children in both of our programs over the summer and look forward to letting you know how we are doing. Registration for the 2010-11 school year is open for Son Shine Inn (539-3882) and Salida Christian School (539-1693). If you know someone that may be interested in a wonderful Christian education, please tell them to call for more information and a registration packet.
